Calderon, Michael BE3325BOULEVARD – California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) officials are searching for a minimum-security inmate who walked away from McCain Valley Conservation Camp in San Diego County.

Inmate firefighter Marco Calderon, 21, was reported missing at 12 a.m. Wednesday, June 13. He had last been seen around 10:30 p.m. in his assigned bunk. CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety agents were activated to locate and apprehend Calderon. CDCR, CAL FIRE, the California Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies have been notified and are assisting in the search.

Calderon is a Hispanic male, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 223 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen with his hair in a ponytail. He was received into CDCR custody on Sept. 28, 2017, from Los Angeles County to serve a five-year sentence for second-degree robbery. He had been assigned to McCain Valley Conservation Camp since May 2018.

 Anyone who sees Calderon should contact 911 or law enforcement authorities immediately.  Since 1977, 99 percent of all offenders who have left an adult institution, camp or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.
