Special Hiring Fair for Sonoma and Napa Valley Residents Recovering from Wildfires
Please join the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and the California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA) on Friday, October 27, for a hiring fair. This event will be held in association with Santa Rosa Junior College and is specially intended to assist people who lost their livelihood in the wildfires.
Attendees will receive career information and find resources to apply for immediate openings with the State of California. They will learn how to compete for state government jobs, and discover how many private sector jobs provide the necessary experience and skills to qualify for State government positions. This event will provide applicants with information about a wide variety of CDCR careers, one-on-one technical assistance to create a CalCareers account, and online access to the state’s application process, including state examinations. Hiring authorities will be on-site to schedule interviews and background clearances for qualifying candidates.

About State Jobs
The State of California has ongoing recruitment opportunities for various positions. By attending the event, qualified applicants will receive information about growth-oriented careers in plant operations and maintenance, administrative and clerical, accounting, staff services, management, including law enforcement.
Employees are an important resource for any operation, including CDCR and CALPIA. The vacant positions advertised at the event are vital to making sure that California’s adult and juvenile state correctional facilities are operating efficiently seven days a week, 365 days a year. Positions may be based in either correctional facilities or administrative offices.
